Chickens

We have chickens and ducks at our house. I have been taking care of them with my son Ryan in Alabama the past few weeks. They are truly interesting to watch. I was out there a little while ago and feeding them some water and giving them another container with water in it so they will have more - we will be out of town next week - it was funny to watch them looking at the container and wondering what to do with it. They pecked at it , looked at each other , one went over and got another one and they both came over to look at it and one finally stuck his head in it and discovered it was water. He went crazy drinking out of it then. But I watched them for a few minutes and they were pecking on the ground and watching them reminded me of how we are sometimes as people. We peck around in life and look down at what is around us just like those chickens when God made us to soar - like eagles. It really is funny how similar I started seeing how we are and that is not where God wants us to live. God created us as his people to soar in life and lift our heads up and not be downcast. In life that is not always easy to do but remember you are an eagle!Lift your eyes up above - look to the hills and heavens - that is where your help comes from. Love chickens but we are eagles!
