Servants

This past few weeks have been busy for me. I have not blogged in few weeks - been out of town in Alabama with Eric's Grandmother for her surgery. Rachel Jones (GM) was diagnosed with lung cancer a few weeks ago and had surgery last week. She is doing great. Got it all and no chemo so that is great. Stayed with her for few days before the surgery and stayed a night in the hospital last week while she was there. She is an awesome lady and had a great time with her. I was thinking while I was there about being a servant. Every thing we do we are to serve and think of others. While I was there I helped out , colored her hair , did some cleaning, whatever I could find to do and help. We as children of God should be willing to serve where ever we can. Serving isn't a demeaning thing at all. It is a joy to serve others when your heart is in it. Jesus was a servant to others at all times. Everything we do we should have a servant's heart. I get real upset when I see leaders , pastors, mgmt, etc.. that is not willing to serve. We are never to high on the list to be a servant. I always say that I can clean a toilet anytime I need to, doesn't mean I should have to do it , but I should always be willing. Serving is a great place in life. It keeps life in perspective in that it takes our eyes off of us and keeps it on others and makes our world bigger than the big "I"- me. No matter where we serve it is important. What we do for our families is just as important as what we do for a neighbor. People in ministry especially have to be careful that they don't get caught up in doing for others with a good attitude and do for their families with a bad attitude. It is all servanthood and should be done with the same joy no matter where it may be. Look for an opportunity to serve and do for someone. You will be amazed the joy it brings to your life. God Blesses Servants!!
